The Poggio del Moro estate is located in Chianciano Terme, in a unique area, at the foot of Mount Amiata: this gives the territory inimitable characteristics for microclimate and terroir. The soil is mainly composed of tufaceous sands, clay and a silt faction, rich in mineral salts, thanks to its proximity to the volcanic mountain. The soils are alkaline, with a strong presence of limestone.

The microclimate of the company is more temperate than the nearby Montepulciano and this favors a longer and more precocious vegetative arch. The company is also very attentive to the respect of nature and the people involved in the management: we practice sovereign, pruning of respect and we do not use herbicides.

These strong native vineyards, therefore, offer a product with unparalleled characteristics in terms of length and aftertaste. We like to think that the flavor and persistence of our wines originate from the influence of the two neighboring volcanoes, Amiata and Cetona, as well as from the prehistoric sea that once stood here, millions of years ago. That’s why Poggio del Moro is a completely separate story: the treasure kept in our land tells a story different from any other, even from those of nearby vineyards. Come and see for yourself: our doors are always open!
